Visit Mobius Kids Children's Museum and Science Center with your kids in this season

In the last 30 years or so, educators and museum curators were used to hearing parents complain that most museums and educational visiting centers were geared only for adults, and not for the people who are the most curious and the most open to learning about the things that museums generally have on display. Acting upon these complaints, the idea of the children’s museum was born, and now there are some truly stunning museums all across the country.

The Mobius Children’s Museum is an amazing place full of sensory, hands on fun, and is definitely worth a visit if you are anywhere near Spokane, WA. Folks who live in Seattle, WA heading towards Coeur d’ Alene, ID, will find this museum right on the way. Finger painting corners, blocks stations, music making devices and more will greet your child and you on the way in. Water and sand play, special lights and electrical devices will captivate you on the way out. Geared for children aged 3-7 or older, this museum is a wonderful introduction to learning and studying exhibits. It’s a great first step for your child to enjoying museums geared to the older ages.

Mobius Children’s Museum also operates Mobius Science Center , an amazing place that you will need to prepare to spend several hours at in order to fully engage in all the exhibits. Air powered race cars, static machines, and other scientific experiments await your children, from the age of 3 and up (adults have a lot of fun here as well!). Frogs, turtles, snakes and spiders are on display, and at intervals during the day they are taken out for the children to see close up and maybe even touch!

This October, a very special T-Rex will be on display, all the way from South Dakota! Her name is Susie, and for children who are in love with dinosaurs, this is an extra-special chance to view a real one without having to travel to Los Angeles, New York City, or Chicago. The museum hosts exhibit themed birthday parties in addition to group tours, so you can imagine what kind of a fun birthday party a dinosaur party would be!

If you live in the area, the Science Center is always looking for teen and adult volunteers to help guide children through the many hands-on exhibits and crafts. What a fun and educational way to indulge your love of science. From the website:

“The Mobius Spokane Board of Directors has worked toward the goal of bringing a science center to the Inland Northwest for more than a decade. Their combination of dedication, expertise, generosity and vision has formed the foundation of the organization and continues to shepherd its development and stewardship.”

If you are looking for fun things to do with kids during the winter, then the Mobius Children’s Museum and Science Center are wonderful places to spend the day and come away with a love for science and learning.
